Wellbeing & prevention
Build support before the cliff edge.
Wellbeing is not only something to think about when life falls apart. Small, repeatable actions that build connection, routine, movement, rest and support can strengthen us before a crisis develops.
Wellbeing in practice
Small things become protective when they are part of everyday life.
Connection
Make regular contact with people who help you feel seen, useful and part of something.
Movement
Choose movement that is realistic and enjoyable — walking, sport, gardening, training or something else that gets you moving.
Rest and routine
Protect the basics where you can: sleep, meals, breaks and routines that make the day more manageable.
Notice changes early
Pay attention when you withdraw, stop enjoying things, feel overwhelmed or lean harder on coping strategies that are no longer helping.
Reduce pressure
Break problems into smaller next steps and ask for practical help before everything needs solving at once.
Professional support
A GP, counsellor, addiction practitioner or other professional can help before a situation becomes an emergency.
